Our Story
Where It All Began
The Edinburgh Bow Tie Company began back in 2012 when Matthew asked Hannah to make him a bow tie.
The challenge was accepted, and the first Edinburgh Bow Tie was created — completely by hand (the sewing machine was broken), using two hair clips to fasten it to the collar.
True story.
Needless to say, the brand has grown up a lot since then!

Our Home
We moved to Edinburgh on a whim back in 2011, and fell completely in love with the city and its people. It is now our home in every sense of the word. We've even persuaded family to follow us here — they came with the vision and created The Cocktail Geeks, and have become quite the Edinburgh institution in their own right!
Edinburgh has a way of doing that to you. It felt only right that our brand should carry the city's name. Edinburgh is bold, beautiful, and full of character — and that's exactly what we want every bow tie to be.

The Edinburgh Bow Tie Co. specialises in luxury, handmade men's accessories. Our collection offers a variety of styles — from classic self-ties to pre-tied, tartans to silks — with cufflinks and pocket squares to complete the look.
Bespoke & Made to Order
We also offer a tailored, made-to-order service, allowing you to work with our design team to create your own patterns and prints, made into the style of your choice. Ideal for uniforms, corporate gifting, and those seeking the exclusivity of a truly bespoke accessory.
